[ Nate keeps packing, but brings his bag over to the kitchen table. ]

Maybe, one part excited to be a pirate, one part...hopeful we'll find something, and one part afraid of what that might be.

I'm ready, though.

We haven't given up looking yet, why would we now?

[ Which is the truth and why he's swallowing his fears. He's got fears, but they have to try. ]

Try and not play with the creature. I mean, maybe I could do a potion for that but do you want me to have tentacles?

[ He can't help but tease, even as he steps forwards, showing there's something in his hand. ]

You're not quite ready.

[ He holds out his hand, a folded black scarf in his hand. ]

Can't be a real pirate without a head tie, right? Figured it was a better choice than an eye patch.

[ Nate looks up and smiles. ]

I like it. Thanks.

[ He steps forward to take it, and puts his hand over Caleb's. ]

Thorn's coming with me. He was freaking out about all the risks, until I asked if he wanted to come, and then it all seemed okay.

It's also... charmed. Just a bit of luck I found in one of the magazine books.

[ A stolen spell but he's getting good at them. ]

Is that all I had to do?

[ He smiles at that though, leaning in and kissing him tenderly. ]

He's afraid you'll be gone again. I can understand that but you have to do what you have to do.

[ Nate tilts his head into it, his touch gentle. ]

We always dealt with every risk together. I don't blame him. And I can't say I don't understand.

I'll tell you what I told him, though. I'm coming back, Caleb. No matter what we find out there or how it goes, I'm coming back one way or another.

Just remember neither of you two are alone. We're here for you.

[ Not that all of them could play pirates, and Chris was going as well he suspected. ]

You sure leaving me and Nick in charge is a good idea?

[ He wraps his arms around Nate, pulling him in close and holding him tight. ]

I know you will. If we find a way, I believe we go together if we choose to. So you have to come back.
